Today we are going to cross the "famous" 7 locks of Béziers called the Fonseranes Locks. Boats raise to a height of 21.5 metres over a distance of 300 metres. The crossing takes about 40 minutes.

These cows mooed the whole night.

We are about to pass through the first lock of many more.

For some unknown reason, Lock managers are quite rude. They must be sick of tourists like us not doing exactly what they expect. They are shouting at us but we cannot hear much because of the sound of water.

Arriving in Béziers’  harbour. We can see that the next coming lock is massive.

This lock is more than 6 metres high.

Waiting for the last boat to get ready.

Almost up there.

Waiting for the next lock to open

While waiting, I’m going to the city center to buy some paper clips. When we started yesterday, there was one curtain missing in the boat. Also, most curtains are missing hooks. These hooks are made from plastic so naturally, they broke. Paper clips might be the solution. I’ll try at least.

This is the central market of Béziers. Quite beautiful.

Back from the city center

We are now starting a series of 7 locks in a row. It should take roughly 40 minutes to cross them all.

Some time later

We arrived in Colombiers. The company that we rent the boat from has a base here so we can use electricity and refill water for free.

We could have stayed in Colombiers for the night but it might be noisy so we keep going a little further.

A little moment later

We finally found a spot for the night. This time, no cows, no noise :-)
