Today is beautiful 🙂 My tires are still hard after one night so I’m quite sure they are well repaired. That’s a second good point :-). I’m ready to go to Tauranga and get my future little computer : a tablet. Yes, I’ve decided to get a tablet because that will be cheaper than internet cafes in the long run.

This place reminds me Kerikeri. There is kiwi fruits cultivation all around. Mmmh! Gold kiwis are so delicious :-).

Some time later

I’m now about half way between Waihi and Tauranga. It’s Katikati here 🙂

It’s a good place to have break 🙂

I arrived at the campsite

I didn’t take any pictures of the camp this time…

Before coming here I sent an email to the reception to check the price. The woman wrote bac to me: One night in a tent is $15. OK it’s correct. Now I’m at the reception:

  • That will be $17 for the night
  • Eh what? I emailed you two days ago and the price was $15.
  • Ah no it’s 17$ but I’m not the person who answered you (with an unpleasant air)
  • Could you check my email please?
  • Yes… OK… $15
  • I prefer that :-)

Setting up the camp

I’m now on my way to Tauranga city center. That’s Mount Manganui over there. The road is incredible here! It’s not made for bicycles at all. I feel like I’m on a motorway again (again?)… Fortunately I’m almost there…

Once in the city center

Since Auckland, I didn’t dare to go to internet cafes because of the high prices… I thought about a better solution. I don’t want to buy a computer because it’s too heavy, too big and I need to find a place to charge it every 2 or 3 days… not a good choice. Then, after some research, I turned myself towards tablets and I found the Google nexus 7 (Seven for 7 inch screen). It’s just the size I need (a little bit bigger than a Kobo), very lite (350g), powerful enough and last about 9 hours on battery. Hence, the best thing is, I can charge it on my bike using my dynamo 🙂

Now, like a computer, I need to find all the programs that will allow my to edit my pictures or videos and update this blog for free when I will find free WiFi in McDonald’s, libraries or other places.

Spending some time in Mc Donald's

After some hours spent between two McDonald’s to get free WiFi, I came back at night in The Puna to have a good sleep 🙂 See you!
