Te Puna, working day 1

Manual
work

September 20, 2012

Finally, I’m indeed gonna work with Russel. At first he was not sure if there would be enough work for the two of us but I guess he figured it out. He picked me up at the campsite (he stays here too actually) and few minutes later, we arrived at 8am at the property he told me about.

Work during morning

Russel also offered to bring me to the lookout point from where we can sea all the Tauranga Harbor. We will go after lunch because I’m going to work this afternoon as well finally 🙂

Then around lunch time, Russel showed me a lookout place. (That’s him up there).

Russel was right, the view is great but cloudy today…

We can obviously see the Mount Manguanui (Maps) which is the only hill around here.

Ok, let’s go, we have work to do 🙂

Few minutes later

It doesn’t look like but that job is finished 🙂 All the branches were too close to the top so I through them away further. Fortunately I have my gumboots 🙂 haha. I’ve used my 1,5kg boots for the second time since I bought them in Kerikeri! At least I didn’t carry them all the way for nothing.

Then, the next job was to cut these pieces of metal so they could fit into Russel’s trailer. It’s finished as well 🙂

We’ve got 2 piles of them now.

Still, we have a great view from here.

Finally, we put the isolation layer for the ceiling.

I like to see the wood structure like this  🙂

I’ve got plenty of protections to do that job today 🙂 That’s it for today. I might work tomorrow as well. Looks like Russel likes my help 🙂
