Today I’m on my way to Gisborne. I will meet Maila there for the last time because tomorrow she is going to participate to a triathlon.

I slept well tonight, even after two weeks in a classic bed :-).

We are not allowed to camp here but there are toilets and tables. Hence, nobody is using them! The temptation was irresistible!

Back on the road

This road feels long and the weather is hot!

At least, the view is great.

A beach, as empty as usual.

I really enjoy riding along the ocean. The wind, the sound, the power of nature.

Here is the point where we stopped last week with Maila while we were on our way Gisborne. I know I’m not too far now.

There are many surfers here. I wish I would have a surfboard to continue the training I started in Australia in 2008 :-).

I’m tired. The weather is really hot and I’m getting hungry. Fortunately I already know where I’m going to eat. 7km more to go!

Arrived in Gisborne

That’s the place I was thinking about :-). This is the same spot where we stopped last week before Maila went to her running competition.

This spot is right in front of the river and the city centre.

Ohh that’s so good to eat, I was starving!

Some time later

I did what I needed to do in the city centre and I’m now in front of the house of Jane and Chris, Maila’s friends. They invited me to stay few days with them if I wanted. Sure!

The surrounding is quite nice, lots of space and low houses.

This is Freely a very very old cat. They found her so they don’t know exactly her age but she is around 20 years! I’m waiting for Chris and Tareg to come back. They went running and should be back in roughly 20 minutes.
