Kerikeri, campsite tour

Resting

July 13, 2012

It feels nice to stay more than one night in the same place. The campsite’s manager will call me when there is work opportunity. Companies around the area look for staff regularly so with a bit of luck I will find a job soon. But for now, let’s visit that place first.

I start with the TV room. Here they have a bunch of couch, very comfy, and a TV on the wall for movie nights. After riding roughly 500km, it is good to sink in one of these 🙂

The sports room.

You guessed it, the kitchen area. We can be many cooking at the same time, that should not be an issue 🙂

The dinner outdoor area.

And to end up that quick tour, my tent, on a very crowded place, as usual. I am always the only guy camping in winter while every one else stay in cabin. The good thing is: it’s so quiet!

After visiting the campsite, I went outside and discover the small town of Kerikeri. I will have a tour very quickly I think. Roughly there is:

  • clothes shops
  • two Mc Donald’s
  • a librairie
  • a cinema ($15 per person)
  • a petrol station
  • two fairly big supermarket
  • and other stuff but that would get boring so that’s enough

I believe 15 minutes is enough to cross the city from one end to the other. There is also some residential area and after that it’s kiwis, oranges, lemons and clementines fields. That all the infos I have for the moment. Nothing much to do here so I did the same as some high school students. I went to supermarkets and compared prices and I discovered that so far, I was not going to the cheapest places.

Doing nothing!

A very productive day that ended up in the TV room front of a movie. The thing is I was alone because everyone is working and they all go to sleep at 9pm.
