After a long trip yesterday, I prefer to have a break. Karl told me that it should rain today so absolutely no regrets. Dargaville might not be the best city to visit but it has an internet cafe :-). This morning, I woke up at 7.30am. I wish I could lie more in my sleeping bag but it’s not very comfortable so I prefer to spend my time doing something useful.

Dargaville is situated close to the northern Wairoa river.

Three spots, three birds :-).

This river use to be a commercial axle for transporting Kauri trees. Not any more fortunately!

There is 4455 persons living in this town and at 6pm it’s really quiet. Summer might be more active, maybe?

Blogy afternoon

Today I spent most of the day in the internet cafe. The goal was to find out how to optimise my workflow when updating this blog. The pictures taken by my camera are too big so I need to use an online program to downsize them first. I like to take 16:9 ratio pictures but this format uses the largest resolution possible, grr!

The best solution I found so far: I’m going to use Gimp (web). It is a free alternative to Photoshop. Hence, I will be able to resize automatically all my pictures in 3 clicks :-). I will gain so much time and also save so much money because those internet cafes are not cheap. This month I spent 70$ for internet. It’s really too expensive here. 10 minutes cost $1 and in campsites the computers are often really slow so I pay to wait… I know it’s not the most amazing blog thing to read but I wanted to keep it up to date, at least for my own souvenirs :-). I wish I’d spend less time on internet and enjoy days off completely but that’s the way it is for now.

I was coming back to the camp when suddenly… Hey! That’s a great point of view here to remember this camp. Good night!
