Today I’m going to change region again, from Northland back to Auckland.

That was a good day yesterday with a good surprise at the end :-). Wellsford wasn’t so far and I don’t see a potential camp around. I chose the right opportunity yesterday.

I am continuing my way towards Auckland. I’m also trying to stay off the main highway because the traffic is getting more intense. This road is perfect :-).

After a great climb, the view is wonderful. Just the best to have a break.

Blue sky patched with friendly clouds, good temperature and we are in winter! I might travel at night in summer. If the weather is that good now I’m gonna burn in 6 months!

This place looks magical! What is that huge carved structure at the top? I think I see a giraffe in that field, two third from the left and half way down. What is it, a zoo? I’m not sure really but it’s very intriguing. I’ve search online and I cannot find any informations about it which is even more mysterious.

Cute house :-).

New Zealand is really green hey?

Arrived in Waimauku

Hey, that smooth grass looks very attractive. Could I sleep around here? I won’t be very well hidden though. Actually, I’ll be in plain sight! Especially if a train passes.

That’s, maybe the only railway in the country. At least, that is the first time I accounter one. It’s going to Auckland I think. A shortcut?

I went off road nearby the crossing and I check to see if there is any possibility of staying here tonight. I’m already tired and I’m not so far away from Auckland so tomorrow I could spend the afternoon to go to the shops.

A moment later

I think I found a good spot! 🙂 I’m not sure if I’m on a private land or not because I’m just along a fence and there are houses on the other side. But I will keep as quiet as possible. Shhhhh…

I can hear some chickens on the other side. They will certainly cover my noises.

Great view! Nobody can see me from the road, just the train if there is one but I’m not sure.

It’s all good! Shhhhh!

Happened what I which would not happen

Around 8pm, I was about to fall asleep when I heard the ring bell of the railway crossing… what?! A train is coming?! For sure the driver will see me! What if he calls the police? Will they come to catch me? :-S. Oh shit, that’s stressful hey.

I started to feel the heavy weight of the train through the ground. The vibrations are getting stronger and stronger…:-S Choo-choo Choo-choo ChOO CHOO! Wow! Once the trains passes my level I opened the tent to check the massive object rambling next to my campsite. That train is actually not that big but being 2 meters away from the railway it’s quite impressive! Now I can only cross my fingers for the driver not to call any security…

But that’s not all. About an hour later, the same train (well I guess) came back… This time it was longer and fully loaded. Few! I guess the driver didn’t call anyone otherwise I’d be in trouble already lol. Let’s enjoy the massage then 🙂

What an experience! I was as excited as worried! All in all, good night!
