Seoul, cycle trip

40 km

Today I'm going to cycle again. This time I'm going South-East before joining a cycle path that brings me back up to the Han river. Then I'll finish the loop back to the guesthouse.

The weather is very sunny again. Let’s have breakfast first.

Breakfast time

Here we go. The first part of the trip is not very nice. I must follow a big road for some time before reaching the cycle path.

In Seoul, I’ve seen quite often those LED tiles on the ground. They are connected to the traffic light and turn green when we are allowed to cross. Interesting.

I’m leaving Seoul!

At least, the foot path is wide and safe.

I’ve finally reached the bicycle lane.

I was going to start the loop but it’s now 1pm already. This cycle path is a dead end but there is a city where I should be able to find food.

I’ve found that small restaurant on Naver.

There is no waiter or waitress here. We choose what we want by using that vertical tactile screen. One of the customer was kind and showed me quickly how it worked, what options do I have.

Food has been ordered. My bike is right next to me on the other side of the glass window.

One of the staff speaks very well english and called my number in english. Thanks :-)

Lunch time

Back on the road, starting with the park from where I came from.

Another wonderful under bridge kids park that will open soon.

There is a big fish in the middle of this shot.

I am reaching the Han river again.

There are building a stadium for the olympic games? Searching online, it seems that Seoul is bidding on the 2036 Summer Olympics. They really anticipate then.

Here is the Han river again.

I passed by that place 2 days earlier. Time for a little snack.

Snack time

I keep following the river.

I’ve reached a park that I also passed by 2 days ago. I think I’ll have a nap.

Napping for an hour

It’s now time to go back to the guesthouse.

Seoul feels like multiple small villages next to each other. Each district has its own center with all the shops people need. It’s quite nice.

I’m coming back to the same big road I left earlier this morning.

At the guesthouse

Son, the host of the guesthouse, recommended me to visit a famous spot where people go for chilling during the day or evening. This time I take the public transports because I’ve done enough cycling :-)

Hmmm ok. It seems very touristy.

Let’s look for a cheap restaurant then.

This is a kind of pub street here.

Not really my thing.

Searching for a restaurant

That looks nice and cheap enough for 7000 KRW (4.80 USD).

Ah, those machine again. This restaurant is run by one person only. The host helped me with the machine :-)

I’m the only customer.

Diner is ready.

Diner time

As soon as I started eating, two women came in but left soon after. Then 7 men came in. Then the two women came back. Then another women arrived as well. In like 5 -10 minutes, that small restaurant was completely packed! The food was good :-)

I’m now on my way back.

In the subway

Here were are

Good night!
