Second cycling day towards Toulouse. Today is a little more hilly than yesterday but the road is still very nice. I've passed through many vineyards. Many cars I see have a logo of a Castle of "dadada" or Castle of "dididi".

Last night, when I laid down in my hammock, at first it was too hot. I sweat more than the whole day. I didn’t get cold at all but I didn’t sleep well. The nearby road has been busy the whole night. Other than that, the spot was perfect. No one saw me and bothered me.

It’s 7:15. I’m ready to go. I’ll get some water first, then I’ll go to the toilets, then I’ll hit the road towards the North.

Drinkable water right next to the cycle lane is very convenient 😊

Drink, refill, go.
From water to toilets

Very convenient that I can fit the bike inside!

Here we go, finally.

Lots of olive trees and Olive mills in this area.

… and vineyards, of course.

I’m in the middle of the first climb of the day.

I’ve seen the 2km mark. Then then 1km mark. I was expected this one ☝️ Almost there.
500m later

Done!

Now it’s time for resting while others are going up. As always, non of these type of cyclist says “Hello”. How rude!

Looks like the Chinese border haha. Except that there is a smell that mixes sewers and chemicals. Weird.
Long downhill

I’ve reached the valley.

I won’t try because I fill they are not ripped yet but they look good 👍

That’s rare these days to see a river bed with water.

Arrived in Puget-ville.

I went to a Vival minimart to buy some snacks for a short break.
short break

Back on the road.

That doesn’t smell good but well, maybe the GPS is right? or maybe not…

Yeah, sure… “Turn left and climb the next tree”. Stupid GPS… I’ll go back and look for the normal road…
Looking for the good way

Yeah. That’s the other end of that “road” that I was on earlier. Between the beginning and the end there is a private property. Maybe mountain bikes could do it. Definitely not me and my tiny wheels.

That road looks much more ridable! That’s the second climb of the day.
2nd climb

Here is the pass. Everything coming next will be easier compare to this.

I’m in Rocbaron, going around the city center.

Nice and quiet road.

That’s the village of Néoules. I won’t go there.

I’m arriving at la Roquebrussane. Time for lunch.

I’ll get a panini.

Poor guy died at 22 years old during the war.
Lunch time

I’m 20km away from Saint-Maximin. I should be there around 2:30pm. There is a McDonald’s too so I’ll be there for another work session. It’s good to be able to make some money along the way 😊 Let’s refill and go.

Back on the road. 3rd clim of the day but this one is a short one.
Reaching the pass

Right on the pass, there was a big sign saying “road is blocked”. Seriously? And you think I’m gonna turn away and find another road kilometres away from here? no way. There are digging a kind of channel and refill it. No idea what’s going on but I’m going down for sure 👌

Mazaugues.

Looking back of where I am coming from.

I’m 5km away now. Almost there. It’s getting hot.

Saint-Maximin la Sainte-Baume. Where is McDo ? 😎

A city center later

Here it is. I’ve done 70km today and that’s enough. I’ll update my blog and work until 7pm, kinda.
Blog and work

Before leaving the city I take some fresh water front of the cathedral.

I’m out.

I would have check those trees if that place was not right in front of the speed way. I’ll keep going.
Some steep hills

I am 2.5 km away from Pourcieux where I am pretty sure I will find a spot. Unfortunately there is only one way to go there: a national road.

That is going to be the spot :-)

Setting up camp

At first, I wanted to sleep high in the tree. That would have been cool but I could not find the right branches so I defaulted to the classic set up.
The road is nearby again but this time I’ll use earplugs! See ya.

Genial, ça marche pour nous !
Courage mon pote !
Ah cool. Merci :-)
