Rully > Chemin de Halage

97 km

Today I definitely experienced the transition between the north and the south. The style of the houses changed almost immediately after I crossed the tunnel. Interesting!

That was a very quiet night :-)

Packing my stuff

An hour later I am ready to go.

Going through the fields.

A short break.

Snack time

That’s a nice bike park.

Right here, I realized I lost my scarf. When I left the place where I had a snack I put my scarf on the top of my yellow bag. And then, I left without taking it so it fell 2.3km from here. Rah!!!

5.6 km for my scarf

Very nice to cycle under that natural tunnel.

Some people (firemen?) are training climbing down that bridge.

Another short break.

Break time

One more break.

Break time

That would be a great shower here!

I’ll get a sandwich and a can of Orangina please.

Between the cycle route and the village there is that nice little park where I am going to have lunch.

Lunch time

Then a little nap.

Nap time

Let’s keep going.

Arriving at an old train station where I see other cyclists filling up their water bottles. Nice!

Hilly road

I’ve reached the “Tunnel du Bois Clair”. It:s about 1.8 km in length and the first thing you notice it the cold air coming out of it. I better cover up before riding it.

A woman who was waiting for others offered me to take a photo for me. Thank you :-)

Out on the other side.

The style if the building has kinda change suddenly.

I’m on the south side of Macon. I must use the main road for a bit because I want to reach a place where I will be able to charge my stuff and that is…

McDo… Yeah, not the best food but it has toilets, wifi, air-cond and electric plugs.

I ordered an Oasis and an apple. Now I can update my blog a little. I’m getting late.

Bloggy time

It’s now more than 8:30 pm. The wifi was way slower than expected. I need to find a spot for the night.

It’s getting dark but I want to reach the other side of the Saône river where I think I will find a nice and quiet place.

I won’t have much light to set my camp.

Cycling fast

Every time there was a spot nearby the water, there was already someone there. I cycled 5 to 10 km more than expected but I finally find a okay place. I could even take a shower in the river. Hopefully the night will be quiet!
