Today should be fairly easy in term of hills. I want to arrive early in Joigny to work online. Then I'll cycle further to find a smaller town for camping.

That’s the wash house where I slept last night. I almost wished it had rained 😅. I was well hidden and protected from water and cold. Pretty nice spot. This morning is cold again. 12 degrees. I have to put back pant, jumper and shoes!

Here we go.

Roads are a little hilly and there are long stretches like this one.

Just before arriving at Saint-Fargeau I heard a sound I don’t like. The one from a snapping spoke. Unfortunately I was right… That’s the fourth one! I guess this is an original one which was weaken from the previous 1000 km.

I went to the bakery just at the same time as many other. I preferred to stand outside instead of being cramped inside. Another guy arrived to and told me he was going to stand outside as well. We had a short chat. When I came out of the bakery I saw 2 of those old style fountain. The one you need to manually pump water out. I tried them but no water. The guy I talk to a minute ago saw me and asked:
Do you need water?
Mmmh yes, I'm almost out and did not find any places this morning where I could refill my bottle
I have water if you want. I'll give you some.
Oh thanks 🙏
I followed him to his car parked in front of the bakery. He pulled up a water bottle and refilled mine.
Thank you!
Do you want a coffee?
Mmmh ok, why not.
The bar just here has some take away coffees. I'll offer you one.
Thanks 🙏
Once we came out with our hot coffee, we say goodbye and he kept driving. I broke a spoke but I got a free coffee. Karma?

I was looking on Maps if there was any public toilets here and yeah there are! Except that they are broken and full of… Rah! At least that wooden structure is nice.

I cannot unscrew that spoke so I tapped it instead. It won’t “cling” around at least.

Back on the road.

Tannerre-en-Puisaye.

That’s Villiers-Saint-Benoît.

I must do a section on a bigger road. The traffic is pretty light so it’s enjoyable.

Back on small roads in the forest.

“Couillu” would have been a better name 😅.

Joigny is further there. I’ll be arriving in 30 minutes or so.

12h40. I’ve done 65 km in 5 hours. Like yesterday, I’ll stay here, work until 6-7 pm before continuing further and find a smaller town to set up camp.
Working

It’s almost 6 pm. I did buy some groceries for dinner and tomorrow’s breakfast. I will cross that hill on the other side of the Yonne river.

I’m crossing part of the old city center.

While I was climbing that hill, I saw a sign for lookout. That’s the best place for dinner I guess.

Dinner break

Let’s continue. I have 23 km to do before reaching Cerisiers. I want to reach it tonight so tomorrow I will have less than 60 km to get to my final destination, Romilly sur Seine.

The sun is setting but the hardest part of the track is behind me now. Soon I will be going down hill until Cerisiers.

I’m not sure it’s clear on the picture but I can see many wind mill on the horizon.

Finally, Cerisiers. I almost there. I know there is a kind of park area behind the cemetery. I’ll get water first there and go behind it after.
Some time later

I am not staying where I planned because the 2 trees I’ve seen on Street View have been cut down. The spot where I am now is closer to the town and it’s good too.
Also before arriving at the cemetery I’ve noticed a spoke’s sound again… I thought it might be the tape I applied earlier this morning but no, I broke a second spoke today! 2 in one day…. I must rebuild a better wheel. That becomes very annoying and stressful to never know when the wheel will collapse or not.
Anyway, tomorrow is my last day.

Quelle est la ville plus importante au bord. De l’Yonne? Auxerre?
