Today we go visit the work in progress future Line C. There are several locations that we can look at but we will visit 2: a station inside a tunnel and another one up in the air. It's not everyday that we can visit such places.

Let’s go. Max is trying my folding bike :-)
Cycling through the city

We are almost there. We pass by the Machinery hall.
Locking up the bikes

Now queuing with many other curious like us :-)

Almost there. Once up to the tent, they offer some souvenir badges and stickers.

Now we start the visit by walking down the tunnel.

This tunnel is pretty wide because they can store wagons temporarily, depending on the traffic.

On both sides we see stacks of rails. They assemble pieces of 18 metres together until it reaches 300 metres long rail that they will place on the way later on.

We cannot see the machine but this is where they assemble the rails.

Some engineers working for the company explain the project in more details and answer all questions.

We arrive at the future underground station. It’s actually under the “Machinery hall”.

They even do advertising 😅.

So far, we walked inside the part of the tunnel that was excavated by trucks because it’s not deep enough for the tunnel boring machine. We are about to enter in that tube which was made by that 150+ metres machine.

Some explanations, if you can read it 😅.

Once the Line C will be open, no public we be able to walk here, furtunately!

That’s the end of the visit.

Walking back

Moving on to the next station

We just enter the work in progress station.

This station will welcome 2 trains in parallel, the new Line C and the extended Line B.

On the right hand side the Line C. On the left hand side, a peak to the Line B side.

We are now under the bed of the railway only allowed for the technical staff.

We are out. That’s the skin of the building that supposed to keep it cool.

Looking for food

We are going to have some asian food for lunch.

Lunch time.

We are heading home again, cycling along the “Canal du Midi”.

One response to “Toulouse, future metro line C”
Impressionnants ces travaux!
