Saint Martin-Sepert > Bourganeuf

86 km

Last night I got hit by a storm but I stayed dry fortunately. Today is the hardest day of that 3rd french trip. There are lots of hills and it's cold compared to what I've experienced before. October here you come 😅.

This morning, I heard someone coming by quad and stop at the gate. When I look closer, I saw a guy walking straight into the field towards his sheep. He did not see me so I came to him to explain why I ended up in his field. The guy was pretty chill and told me “no problem at all”. Good 😊.

Packing

The tarp was wet and it took me almost one hour to organise everything. I refilled water again at the cemetery and I’m ready for the day.

Local stuff for sale.

It’s grey and cold today. For the first time, I wear shoes, hoody and jacket 😅.

Blue sky? really?

I’m arriving in Masseret, the first “big” town. I absolutely need toilets!

I went to bakery to ask for public toilets. The 2 women at the counter answered “nope, no toilets here”. But then, one of their customer told me there is! She explained to me the way and even waited for me with her car and brought me here. How nice 😊.

Toilet stop

Looks like we can climb that tower. I was gonna leave and did a second turn around it. Let’s check.

Indeed, we can go up 😊.

Fancy stair sign.

One more stairs.

Phew! Nice view 😎.

I’m heading that way.

Going back down

Let’s leave Masseret.

Arriving in Saint-Germain-Les-Belles. That would have been a perfect spot to camp here but I could not have make it up to here yesterday.

Aaaah, Geovelo is tricking me again. This seems to be a short bit only so let’s do it, slowly.

A bit more.

Finally, done.

A little while later

I arrived in Linards. There are no bakery or supermarket. Only that automated mart.

Pfff, to be able to come in, I had to scan my ID card on both sides, give my phone number and email address. Really! Just to buy lunch. I’m going to contact them to remove all my data for sure. It’s practical, yes, but it’s a sucking data machine.

While I will have lunch I will dry all my gear which got wet last night.

Lunch break

Oh oooh. That’s the second spoke I broke. I just finish packing, did like 200 metres slowly and I hear a “cling”. I was sure that it was another spoke. These are weak. One more and I might have to catch the train.

The bike handles okay for now. Let’s keep going.

What is the point of these?

The blue sky is coming back! It’s 5pm.

Short beak.

That’s my goal for today: Bourganeuf, 10km left.

It’s 7pm and I’m almost there.

Short break at the supermarket to get some diner (and tomorrow lunch).

Finally, it’s 7:38 pm and I reached a nice hidden kinda park. There is a lake too. I’ll set up camp, eat something and sleep! See ya.

Merci Damien pour la visite de la Tour, très intéressante. En revanche le supermarché automatique, pas top. Encore de l’emploi en moins et des risque de piratage effectivement. Belle balade aujourd’hui 👍😘
